During my time completing a Bachelor of Interior Architecture, I have learnt to refine my designs. My approach is to focus on efficiency in the functions required of the design, and interactive elements to create interest. The forms I create are minimalistic, allowing the natural beauties found in the texture of materials, atmospheric qualities of lighting and subtle details to shine through. As I continue to grow as a designer, I want to advance in Retail and Commercial design, generating strategic and bold impact, as well as improving productivity in business. I also plan to continue working with furniture which I have enjoyed for the past three years.

Design has always been a part of my life. Having an architect for a father my attention was drawn to architecture at an early age. By the time I was a teenager photos I had taken contained more buildings than people for that was how I remembered my experiences. I remembered the interiors and the facades, the sounds created echoing off of the ceilings and the way light played on the materials. Most distinctly though I remember how I felt and as a result that is how I choose to approach the interior; through emotion. For me this is defined by function. The function of an interior is the foundation of an occupant’s expectations and emotions towards the space. My design process approaches the interior through function and with it I seek to create order within my designs. Patterning has become a favourite tool, both visually and structurally, as a source of ordered complexity which balances function and aesthetics. For this reason designers such as Kengo Kuma and Patricia Urquiola have become constant inspirations in my work. As a final year student I am eager to gain experience in all areas of interior design. In particular areas such as hospitality and retail design have held my attention for a long time. Residential design has also become a strong interest of mine due to my thesis work and I would like to pursue it further in both design and research.
I am a planner, researcher, designer, and crafter. I am passionate about cities, their residents, and using preservation and planning to create positive, happy, well-designed places.

Zahra is a creative individual, who loves the little details life has to offer, an architect by profession and an avid reader and passionate writer , her approach in life is very extrovert. Transporting emotions and values in architecture and interiors is what she aspires for. The tapping of the wood and the clang of the steel is a music that touches Zahra\'s soul. Architecture is not her passion , Architecture defines the word \"passion\" for her.
I have just completed a bachelor of Interior Architecture at UniSA. I am very interested in expanding my knowledge of the design industry and have had the opportunity to undertake work experience in both commercial and residential companies. I am currently working in Melbourne at Key Piece Interior Design Studio, with the focus of Residential and boutique commercial.

DESIGN STATEMENT | A good design is developed around the space of an area and how that space will be occupied, how it will make one feel and its overall appearance. When working on a project I produce spaces that are well thought out through the occupation and human interaction of the space. I believe that function and practicality are two of the most important focal points around design. I do not think function and practicality meaning something has to be boring, I honestly believe the best spaces are the ones most thought out through function and practicality. I love design and art that makes a massive bold statement and leaves a lasting impression on someone, I think design is beautiful in the way that it is possible to achieve that. My inspiration sparks from looking at raw materials and wanting to incorporate them into a project. I love natural exposed materials and I definitely look up to John Pawson, I love how he is always true to his materials and uses them as statement pieces.
Designs that are influenced by nature, different cultures and people are the ones I find the most fascinating. I believe a well thought out design can link people to nature, and connect them to society.
I am an international visual artist, with strong experience in multiple creative fields.
