At the young age of 11, Gena sat back one day in her 6th grade class and realized, "hey, I can draw!" The class was tasked with hand drawing a knight in armor, and hers turned out much better than she expected, and thus a passion for art was born. It wasn't until high school that Gena took any formal art courses. She frequently participated in talent shows and her church choir with aspirations of becoming a professional singer. However, taking note of her fine art skills, it was as a senior in commercial art class, Gena decided to pursue a career path in graphic design. She embarked on this journey by taking the appropriate college courses for a degree in the field as her 'plan b' - if this whole music thing didn't work out. All musings aside, as a result of her dedication to the field and hard work, she has been employed as a graphic designer since her freshman year of college (1999) - you do the math! She also volunteers with her church, not just uplifting her voice, but with live sound mixing and as a projectionist for worship services. She also leads the multimedia ministry - a group of volunteers dedicated to the AV, marketing and creative design needs of the church.

I have recently graduated from Manipal University, India, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. In addition, I gained practical experience in architecture for a year, as an intern, at two different Architecture firms, for six months each in the final year of college. The first office I worked as a trainee was “Architecture Paradigm”. Here, I got an opportunity to work under Ar. Femina Rehman, Ar. Manoj Ladadh and Ar. Sandeep, from June 2014 – November 2014. The practice which was started under the leadership of Late Ar. Vimal Jain, 20 years back, has made a niche for itself in Bangalore owing to their progressive designs and successful projects. The second office where I trained was “Kembhavi Architecture Foundation” from December 2014 - May 2015. Here, I got a chance to work under Ar. Indrajit Kembhavi and Ar. Nita Kembhavi. The firm is a 40 year old reputed practice, being led by Ar. Sharad Kembhavi and Ar. Nalini Kembhavi. They have made a mark in the field of Architecture in India, by bagging large scale projects all over the country and doing justice to them. I feel proud to have been trained under both these Organisations. In the course of one year, I have worked on projects of varying scale ranging from Private Residences, Residential Apartments/Condominiums, Cultural Centres, Business Parks, Jewellery Store Interiors, Gated Communities, Residential Townships, Large Scale Industrial Buildings and Factories. My outgoing personality, recently completed education, and a fresh perspective towards Architecture makes me a strong candidate for the position of a Junior Architect. I also possess excellent computer and technical skills with advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, After Effects), Auto CAD, 3ds Max, Autodesk Revit Architecture, Google SketchUp, Lumion 3D and Corel Draw. I have basic knowledge in Autodesk Ecotect Analysis, Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper too.
