I was formally trained as an illustrator by artist instructors including Richard Ely, Dessa Kallos, Barbara Pearlman, and Jack Potter at FIT in Manhattan. From these working artists I learned practical industry knowledge along with their aesthetic lessons. A career as a designer/ merchandiser in the apparel industry followed my education and with that came new levels of insight into color theory, trends, and construction. Opportunities to fully develop my decorative painting and carpentry skills rode along as companions to fashion's creative flow. More recent projects have included scenic art and carpentry for film, television, video, print advertising and commercial display. As a Scenic Charge, my responsibilities include: - Managing the painting and finishing of all projects on the fabrication floor, in collaboration with scenic staff, art department heads and production management to achieve the vision and goals of various clients. - Ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget, as per allocated man days and materials. - Coordinate space on the floor and set-up requirements with other department heads for efficient workflow for all. - Create samples for clients matching reference materials, and create detailed procedure and color formulas to be duplicated by scenic crew. - Maintain sample libraries and research materials for client meetings. - Hire, manage and develop non-union employees as needed on a per job basis. - Oversee the supply inventory of materials to ensure the timely purchase of required materials. - Emphasize health and safety by ensuring compliance with all OSHA, company and customer requirements regarding all quality, environmental, health and safety regulations.

I am in the details. I am in the lines. I claim each form as my own, but people are the function. The people I serve exist in the spaces above, below, between and around: Spaces where artists are inspired to create. Spaces where families gather together and live. Spaces where people learn and work. And smaller spaces - of paint on canvas, in the contrast of maple and walnut, between copper and stone - spaces I construct for my own joy that others embrace. Create. Live. Work. Construct. This is my work. Create. Live. Work. Construct. This is my concept.
